From mediaforum.ie comes news of an Irish experiment akin to the UK's medialens project. Mediabite has the look of 'still under construction' about it but should become an interesting place to go.
Impression is the best form of flattery?

After reading it I notice many shades of indymedia.
I ask you because you're the only blogger I know who is also from UCD:
Where do I go if I want to complain about that University Observer paper?
Dario, the SU observer is a publication of the SU complaints should be directed either to the editory or the SU officers (if that gets you nowhere-which is hte likely outcome) you can go to the Administrators.
Thanks for the info Cian.
Just out of curiousity, do you know of any other bloggers in UCD? So far, all I've been able to find is myself and you.
no there arent many that i know of. in fact there are none others to be honest. i find UCD to be typified by apathy and self absorbedness so its not that surprising really!
True. I suppose all the D4s are too busy counting their money and mocking everyone not fortunate to be from D4 to lower themselves to something like blogging.
And they are 99.999% of the UCD population, so I guess, yeah, it is unsurprising.
To be honest, having read their ethos I'd be a little sceptical. Painting George Galloway as some sort of repository of an alternative view strikes me as a bit dim.
heya cian, great blog, just bumped randomly into it! Great to find other bloggers interested in irish politics :)

Going by the interviews and output recently it's become a very professional site. One to keep an eye on.

That's an unusually black-and-white view from someone so fond of the multifarious, nay interminable, "on the other hands"! I searched the medialens site and found three references to Galloway. Two, on the appalling Delaney ambush on the Late Late Show and one in reference to the use of terms to characterise figures of dissent - such as Chavez as 'populist'- on their about page. Neither would suggest a painting of Galloway as a "repository of an alternative view". Putting aside other issues with GG, the anti-war message is anything but alternative.

There are a few blogs from Smurfitt students, not quite UCD but similar. Smurfitt business school is owned by UCD for Masters etc. If you google it a few people come up.
